- But you still carry a gun don't you? You still throw people up against the wall. Are you sure you quit? Or have you just found new excuses for the same old kicks?
- ―Scott McCall (Prelude, S2EP1)
Scott McCall is a recurring character in the 1985 series, The Equalizer portrayed by William Zabka in Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the show. He is Robert McCall's formerly estranged son but after reuniting with his father, the relationship begins to grow as he enters his father's world of saving lives.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Scott was born to secret agent Robert McCall and his wife but their marriage was not a happy one due to McCall's occupation and the dangers it brought, leading his wife to leave him and take custody of their son, leaving Scott without his father and creating a barrier of bitterness between them, with Scott resenting his father for the dangerous and violent life he chose, a resentment which only grew after his father's "retirement" as he instead chose to become "The Equalizer" and continue a life of danger rather than leaving it behind, making Scott believe that his father loved death and violence more than his family and life.
Reuniting with The Equalizer[]
Scott would eventually reunite with his father under tense circumstances and was very open about his resentment and distaste towards his father's lifestyle, constantly reprimanding him for the life he chose, but as time goes on and Scott witnesses his father's heroism and selflessness firsthand and learns more about the horrors that haunted his father's past, he begins to sympathize with his father and begins forming a genuine bond with him and starts becoming more involved in his father's missions. It is through these adventures that Scott eventually meets his girlfriend Jenny Morrow and his long lost half-sister Yvette Marcel.
